WHO ARE WE?

The strength of LANGAGE D'ICI resides in its team of training professionals.

All of our teachers have at least a university degree, many years of experience in the language they teach, and excel in the art of adult teaching.

Each of our teachers is skilled in the preparation, development, adaptation, and management of private and group language teaching. We favor humor within our team to facilitate the learning process.

Each teacher concentrates on your objectives and includes your business reality in the class preparation as much as possible once a certain level has been reached.

our history

• 1991 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI is incorporated by Monique Riel, a lifelong teacher. She started teaching in 1970. At that time, the school only offered French courses.

• 1994 -

  Monique's son came on board to help with marketing and business development. The school also added new languages: English and Spanish.

• 1997 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI opened up classrooms in the Plateau Mont-Royal. First on St-Denis Street, and then moved to Sherbrooke Street. This was done to allow, adults outside of their company office, the possibility to follow group language courses. Up to 10 classrooms were filled with eager students every night.

• 1998 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI launched its first website. At the time, very few businesses were active on the web. We were quite the trailblazers. And it paid off, we were getting up to 80% of our new contracts from our website.

• 2000 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI signed collaborative agreements with two schools in Costa Rica and a Canadian company operating in Cuba for Spanish students wanting to learn abroad.

• 2006 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI decided to focus on its corporate training program which was growing in popularity. One of the main reasons for this growth was the fact that this type of training maximizes the employees' time by having the trainer go to the company's place of business.

• 2006 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI added distance teaching to its offering. At that time, the courses were done over the phone.

• 2009 -

  We started to use Skype for our distance classes.

• 2015 -

  LANGAGE D'ICI was offering language training in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin, face-to-face or remotely.

• 2018 -

  We introduced online group classes for employees of the same company.

• 2020 -

  The pandemic made it mandatory to move all of our face-to-face group classes, online.
